challenge #33 ~ Back to… September! (vote for winners at the bottom of this post!)

What does September mean for you? We had a discussion among our design team about what September means for us – some of us were focused on back to school, some of us back to work, a few of us lucky enough to go back to the scrap table!

So we decided – follow me here – to use unconventional materials that might somehow told how we were planning to use our time in September.

That’s your challenge!

  • Use some unconventional materials in or on a project.
  • Create a layout telling us about your September.
  • or, as always, scraplift one of our layouts.

Please do tell us how you were inspired this month!

Ready, Set, September!

We are TRUE-ly delighted to spotlight three guest designers this month! Enjoy!

GDT Deanne Clarke-Saunders

GDT Haven Amacher

Hello, my name is Haven, I live in Eugene, Oregon with my husband and 4 kids under the age of 13. Most of my time is spent cleaning up messes and the kids seem to make them faster than I can clean them, especially, the youngest. I swear if my son was born first he’d be an only child. In the rest of my free time I work very part time as a water exercise instructor, volunteer as a Girl Scouts leader/ camp registrar/ service unit treasure and scrap. I began scrapbooking in 1999 when my first daughter was born and I have been addicted ever since. I only joined the blogging community a little over a year ago and currently am on a few design teams. I love seeing what my fellow DT has going on and find that they inspire me to try new things.

GDT Rita Russello

My name is rita, I am 36 years old. a husband and two young children.
I am Italian …. I scrap for 3 years and a half (after the birth of my daughter)
I love the sketch and scraplift … I do not know scrapbooking without them!
And if we add constraints, themes etc to create other challenges much happier: P
I like to challenge myself with the challenges;)
Mi chiamo Rita, ho 36 anni. Un marito e due bimbi piccoli.
Sono italiana …. Scrappo da 3 anni e mezzo (dopo la nascita di mia figlia)
Mi piacciono gli sketches e gli scraplifts … Non so scrappare senza!!

So happy September to you! Above all else, we hope that September means love, hope and happiness in your house. Oh, and some making and scrapping memories, too!

p.s. xoxo

  1. I really like the team’s take on the September challenge- Lindsey you always out do yourself with the newest challenge and this one was particularly difficult- so glad I made myself do it! I love your chopsticks idea- it’s a great detail in a great design- the gold flowers along the bottom are killer too. Each page here has something I want to try.

    • I wish I could take credit! All you girls contributed something to this challenge this time. I just wrapped up your ideas and put a bow on it. 🙂 XoXo girls are the best!

  2. Fun challenge and great inspiration. I don’t have any photo’s for what I’m doing this month. I’m not taking very many photo’s rignt now. My kids are grown and no grandkids. So … I’m hoping if I scrap some old school photo’s for a “Back to school” theme, that might work?? Is the unconventional items optional if you do the “back to …” part?? You girls were very creative with your unconventional items!

    • ‘Unconventional’ is whatever that means to you! So go with it – it’s as important to scrap the ‘old school’ stuff as it is the new school! Go for it, we’d love to see what you come up with!

      p.s. xoxo

Comment here, we'd love to hear from you! p.s. xoxo!
